Dinner tonight consisted of sad little soft corn tacos with nothing to add except cheese and lettuce out of the garden. :C

I discovered this evening that fly paper doesn’t actually work on fruit flies. Upon inspection of the new strip I hung up, I found a fruit fly WALKING ACROSS IT, all like yes look at how many fucks I give about your stupid sticky paper. Better try harder, stupid human!

I think I may need to make a point of forcing myself to eat more…

My male rabbit went after my Grandma’s small yorkie. The yorkie was just walking away and bam.. he ran over and tried to bite his face.  Any idea why this may be?

& Are rabbits territorial of their owners?

I’m pretty sure I have an english spot. I adopted him March of this year. I believe he’s 1 maybe 2.  Male. Not neutered.

Last, do I NEED to get him neutered. I really don’t want to do that. He is super tamed as of now.

Hello! :3 I think I might be able to help you out a bit. There’s a couple reasons why your bunny may be acting out, and not being neutered is one of them. Male rabbits often exhibit heightened aggression when they’re left intact. In addition, dogs are a natural predator of rabbits. Many rabbits will behave aggressively towards cats and dogs if they’re not raised with them (in fact sometimes even when they are). When I had my rabbits, one of them was very aggressive towards my cat in spite of having been raised together AND neutered. It would probably be best to keep him separated from the dog until you ascertain his motivation for attacking.

Secondly, I strongly recommend that you get him neutered. It will not only extend his life, but it will allow him to be able to live with other rabbits (rabbits should be kept in pairs) and prevent unwanted litters if he ever accidentally escapes. In addition, it will make him less likely to mark everywhere. Rabbits almost always have a strong urge to mark their territory with urine when they aren’t neutered, which can make litter box training very difficult if not impossible. If you do get him neutered, make sure you take him to a veterinarian with experience in neutering rabbits. Rabbits have special needs, and can’t be neutered like a dog or a cat. They have special anesthesia requirements and an incredibly low pain tolerance, so they need pain medication afterwards. It usually consists of a single shot given after surgery. They also can’t be fasted prior to surgery because it may cause them to go into GI stasis. Rabbits can’t vomit anyway, so it’s pointless.

Women absolutely can be rapists; anyone who denies that is a fool. But, the majority of rapes are committed by men against women and other men. BY FAR. Refusing to acknowledge this fact does nothing to actually help victims of rape, including the male victims. All it does is stagnate the discussion and prevent meaningful change from ever happening, allowing for further victimization of both men and women.

Yes yes yes I’m pretty sure everyone and their mother is aware of the fact that most rapists happen to be men. I’m not denying that. This is to the people who think that rape is an evil committed exclusively by men. Because it’s not just men. It’s women too.

Let me phrase it another way. If you actually gave a shit about rape, you’d be focusing on the people who actually commit rape in the majority of cases instead of bawwing over a miniscule demographic that’s largely the exception to the norm.

You know why people want equality but complain about rape predominantly perpetrated by men? It’s because rape is by and large a crime committed by men against women, other men, and children. So if you ACTUALLY want to fix it, you focus on the predominant cause of the problem. One quarter of all adult women in the US have experienced either rape or attempted rape. One tenth of all adult men that we know of have been raped. 99% of the perpetrators against both male and female survivors were men. Now, I acknowledge that this statistic is limited due to its nature. However, rape is a very complex issue resulting from a set of sophisticated socialization procedures that encourage the behavior in men. Women largely don’t experience this socialization, and are as a result much less likely to commit rape. So basically what you’re doing here is making a big stink over a demographic that’s statistically insignificant at worst, and incredibly small at best.

People who think that rape is only committed by men are idiots. This isn’t new, this isn’t novel, and bitching about it doesn’t do anything to solve the actual problem. Can women commit rape? Yes. Does it actually happen? Of course. Is it common? No. Who predominantly commits rape against men? OTHER MEN. All you accomplished here is further erasing the experiences of the majority of male rape survivors. What I see here is a bunch of man tears because rape being by and large a gendered problem makes you uncomfortable, and you’re unwilling to actually do anything to work towards a solution.
